I was commenting on a Facebook entry,* and remembered a game I used to play.
Years ago, a very good friend of mine and I used to hold semi-regular dinner parties. One day we were having a particularly difficult time trying to get the guest list right. It seemed like there was at least one major personality conflict in nearly every group we tried to put together. This led down the path that so many things did - making a game for our own amusement by taking the situation to its logical extreme. We started to come up with the worst possible combinations of people. Not that we ever would have subjected people to it, but it fun to think about. There were two rules to the game. 1) The invitees had to be people we knew and liked. 2) The invitees had to be people we would genuinely want to have to dinner (or at least their spouse, or significant other.)
I had forgotten all about that.
* What is the LJ Facebook crossover etiquette? Does one link, mention names, etc? |
